The challenge of this site was that it appeared that the homeowners had purchased a beautiful home on the worst lot in the neighborhood. It was pie-shaped so that the front was small and the back and one side were larger, but it seemed that almost none of it was usable, due to its slope. After a fun master planning process, though, the site proved to be the best in the neighborhood. Not only was the side made into a usual and beautiful place space, so was the once-thought wet floodplain lower area. And they also now have a warm and welcoming patio from which to enjoy it all. A small pond was added in a later phase to complete the picture.
